This is a cheerful, uplifting song was written by The Kinks’ front man Ray Davies. The most impactful version of this song for me was when I saw it on The Conan O’Brien Show covered by Fountains of Wayne. The reason it was so impactful was that it was just a few days after 911. Earlier this year, we lost Adam Schlesinger (Co-Founder of Fountains of Wayne) to Covid 19 at the very young age of 52. Now is another good time for BETTER THINGS to be in our lives.
